Efficiency Loop

Analysis

Business Line Managers discover, define and initially improve their existing process(es). Let’s define a process as a collection of related, structured activities [a chain of events] that produce a service or product. You could just as easily be describing a process to create, change and manage the process of creating processes. See Process Types for more information.

Design

Business Line Managers determine which activities (in a chain of events) to change, eliminate or automate. They then determine how they should be automated locally - including sub-flows, integration, scripts, alerts, etc. Also define the requirements for global automation - integration with other enterprise software to eliminate steps. Business Line Managers define the requirements for integration with other enterprise software to automate steps and activities, or share information (i.e., publish).

Construction

Business Line Managers configure process(es) automating steps where required, write scripts (or having IT write them) where needed, implemente design requirements, and configure business rules. Create Excel or dashboard software reports.

Execution

Business Line Managers release the process into production validating business rule execution for various scenarios.

Monitor

Manual: Monitoring Excel or dashboard reports to see bottlenecks or potential areas for continuous improvement.

Automated: Responding to email notifications and alerts to keep delays and issues at a minimum.
